Hello!

My name is Santana Marie Carlton and I am a highly driven and committed artist and storyteller. I have been working in this magical field for almost 20 years and have created art for 50+ theatrical productions. I currently hold a Bachelor of Arts in Technical Theatre with a concentration in Design from Jacksonville State University, as well as an Associates Degree in Art and Business from Gadsden State Community College. I have specialized training and experience in scenic design, scenic painting, stage directing, makeup design, costuming and sound design.

I have also started a new journey as a travel specialist with Wondermakers Travel. I have had the privilege to learn from some of the most talented and skilled people in the travel business. My area of expertise is in Disney and theme park travel. With Wondermakers Travel, I have recently created a brand new musical theatre competition for young performers that will take place in Walt Disney World in June 2026. My goal is to create a family-friendly experience for students and families from all over the country at the most magical place on Earth. Learn more about Magic Fest USA.

Director

I have worked as a director, choreographer, designer, scenic artist, makeup artist and costumer for amateur professional, community, and university venues. I am currently the Artistic Director and Instructor for Alabama Repertory Theatre, as well as the competition and travel team director, BamaRep Elite. I train young artists in all areas of theatre including dance, singing, acting as well as behind-the-scenes aspects. As a teacher, my goal is to better prepare students for college life in the theatre and to help them develop skills that could potentially earn them a scholarship to the college or university of their choice. As a storyteller, my role is to produce high quality entertainment experiences that audiences of all ages and backgrounds can enjoy.

Artist

My passion has always been and continues to be creating artwork that brings joy to others. Being an artist in any form is where I thrive, and I'm most at peace with paint on my hands. I have a dream and goal to join the many talented artists with Disney Fine Arts. Follow my journey on Instagram.

I also have many years of experience as a graphic designer. I have been designing theatre production posters and websites for over 15 years. I have experience with Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom, Procreate, Canva, and Sketchup.

Mommy

My most important role is being mom to my little boy, Jack. When I'm not working, I enjoy playing and traveling with Jack and our family. I also enjoy crafting, cleaning, and ceramics.
